Filming

When filming for a music video, we used the drama studio in school which we agreed was the perfect setting for our performance aspect for out music video. We used black backgrounds and the lighting which made a huge difference to our footage we produced.

By following are planning, preparation and storyboards we filmed out video, using different camera angles, shots and movements. An idea we had for the start of our music video was for the band to walk on and put their instruments showing the audience that they are ready to perform their song. We also had the idea of using a zoom out of the band members at the opening of the song.

When filming we wanted to have all the background black and then just the band members and instruments visible in the shot by using the spot lights. We wanted to make the lighting and overall setting eerie and simplistic which relates well back to the indie genre and also the image our band is portraying where it is 'all about the music'.

After filming for the first time we watched our footage back we realised that the band was out of sync to the music, so when we tried editing the footage we were not abel to lip sync the footage to the song. When filming next time we played our song in the back ground and so the band could play along and sing to the music, in order for it to be easier for us to lip sync the singer and also the band members who are playing guitar.
